Qlyp Pro
How Qlyp calculates CO₂e per trip for your reports — no marketing claims, with limits stated clearly.
This page describes the method used in Qlyp Pro GHG reports. Figures follow the published model version (ghg-v1) and the documented energy and provincial electricity factors below.
For each eligible trip, we estimate CO₂e emissions from vehicle travel in grams, using version ghg-v1. The reference scenario uses gasoline at 180 g/km when vehicle energy is unknown.
We multiply trip kilometres (from the quoted route at booking time) by an emission factor for the vehicle’s declared energy. For electric vehicles, we multiply consumption (kWh/km) by the grid factor for the province where the trip occurs.
| Energy / scenario | Factor |
|---|---|
| Gasoline | 180 g/km |
| Hybrid | 120 g/km |
| Plug-in hybrid | 120 g/km |
| Diesel | 200 g/km |
| Electric (consumption) | 0.19 kWh/km |
| Reference scenario (gasoline) | 180 g/km |

When a ride is shared, calculated emissions are split among passengers based on effective occupancy over time. The reference scenario (180 g/km gasoline) is not shared: it is used only for comparison when actual emissions are calculated.
